For the steam enthusiasts Norfolk has more full gauge and narrow gauge steam railways
than any other county.
The
Bure Valley Railway
runs from Aylsham to Wroxham, through the village of Buxton,
the train stop is less than ten minutes walk from the farm.
Sheringham is home to the

North Norfolk Railway, a full size steam railway running through
to Holt on the old M&GN line.
Dereham houses the main station of the
Mid Norfolk Railway, which runs old and preserved BR diesel
stock through to Wymondham.
The Medieval City of Norwich is a mere 10 miles away.
There are numerous
Museums in Norwich, one of the most famous and popular being
Norwich Castle, boasting a complete Norman Keep.
At Wroxham you can shop or browse for hours at
Roys of Wroxham
, the largest village store in the world, or take a leisurely cruise on the broads aboard one of the large passenger boats.
Norfolk has many magnificent historic stately homes.
Blickling Hall with its beautiful lake, gardens and park just seven miles away.
North Norfolk's
Holkham Hall, home to the Earls of Leicester and the Coke family
is a must visit when you stay in Norfolk. The vast deer park there is spectacular.
Holkham beach is truly breathtaking, probably one of the finest beaches in the country.
Wolterton and Mannington Halls are both within a 20 minute drive.
Felbrigg Hall is about 30 mins away, near the Victorian seaside resort of Cromer.
For the fishing enthusiast there are many fresh water fishing lakes in Norfolk.
The river Bure also runs through the village of Buxton.
Norfolk has miles of sandy beaches, just a few miles from Buxton.
Sheringham and Cromer are two of the most popular seaside resorts in Norfolk,
the former hosting a popular market on Saturday mornings.
Great Yarmouth (40-50 minutes) has its famous Golden Mile of soft sand and dunes,
along with its Pleasure Beach, boasting the oldest wooden roller coaster in the country (c1930).
Further afield, (within an hours drive) we have Castle Acre Castle and
Castle Acre Priory, Castle Rising Castle,
The Muckleburgh Collection
near Weybourne on the North Coast, a museum containing tanks and guns from the War, many of which are fully operational.
